You are welcomed to a Celebration of Life for Peter to grieve together in community on Saturday, April 20th and Sunday, April 21st, in San Francisco, CA. The main gathering will be on Saturday, April 20, at the Lab (2948 16th Street, San Francisco) from 3 to 6pm, and there are also many other ways to engage this weekend in the Bay Area, described in detail below.
Saturday, April 20th, 10-11am: Community Reflection with Peter’s work at the YBCA
Peter has artworks in the Bay Area Now 9 exhibition at the YBCA. They have graciously offered to open their doors to us for a private gathering to experience his work and for reflection from 10am-11am, before the museum opens to the public. Please gather at the front doors between 9:45am-10am so we can all go in together.
Saturday, April 20th, 3-6pm: Celebration of Life at The Lab
We will be Live Streaming the event from the Twitch Account of our generous host, The Lab, at https://www.twitch.tv/thelabsf - from 3-6pm PST.
We will open the Ceremony formally with a sound experience at 3:30pm PST to ground us all together and with Peter in sound and color vibration. This will be followed by speakers, some videos Peter made of his own work, and time for folks to share memories spontaneously.
If you are present from afar - connect to the SF energy by wearing something beautiful, holding a piece of pyrite or a special rock, slowing down with us. We are all in different geographies and we all love Peter so deeply. Let's be in it together.
We will be recording and details of how to access that will ultimately be posted on this website ... also remember that this website has a place to share a memory and a photo. Please contribute if/as the spirit(s) move you.
Sunday, April 21st: Community Farewell Ritual, 10am
Peter loved the waters - the pool party, the rivers, the oceans. Long-time surfing comrade Aaron Gach will host a short, collective memorial activity followed by an informal gathering. People do not need to bring anything, but they should dress for the weather. We will meet at Ocean Beach directly across from Beach Chalet. It has ample parking and is easily accessible via public transportation.
This page will be updated regularly, as soon as logistics are confirmed. In the meantime, if you have questions, please email RememberingPeterSimensky (at) gmail (dot) com. It might take a few days to lovingly get a response.
